Making memories in the kitchen

My children have finally reached an age where they can help me in the kitchen... and actually help.

My children have finally reached an age where they can help me in the kitchen... and actually help me in the kitchen. It’s a wonderful thing. A pair of sous chefs at my disposal seven days a week. They make the salad, cut up the veggies, create our marinades and make a huge mess in the process. A complete and utter mess. Let me make sure you understand what I am saying. Like a bomb dropped all over my kitchen counter and exploded onto my floors.

Why do I let them help me? Remind me?

It’s because they love to do it. And it’s because I love to watch them have so much fun. The cleanup is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. After all, we are making long-lasting memories together, right? One of the fondest memories I have as a child is of cooking desserts with my mother during the holiday seasons. Now with three kids of my own, I thought it would be nice to continue that tradition year-round, even if it means that my counter will be a sticky mess each night of the week.

With flour on my nose, I always reach for Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to tackle our kitchen nightmare. When I get to the cleaning part the children always seem to disappear. Isn’t that the way? Just like their father. That’s ok, it’s not that big of a deal. A few swipes and I am good to go. Besides spills and messes, the Clorox Disinfecting Wipes kill 99.9 percent of germs, viruses and bacteria that can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours. So when I clean up dinner, I know I’m also taking care of things I can’t see as well. Double bonus.

Dinner is served. Kitchen is cleaned. Memories are made. Family in a nutshell.
